First of all, good morning! to all those who have landed here, maybe by chance or maybe not.

Good morning is also the first word to say when you meet anyone in a golf club.

I remember many years ago, in my early golfing days, I met a boy in the club-house who was half my height. He greeted me first and said, “good morning!” I was amazed.

I also remember that when I joined a well-known fitness gym, which is comparable in some ways to a ‘club’, and entered the locker room for the first time and said ‘good morning’, someone turned around as if to say “who is he? What does he want?”, others didn’t even turn around. I adapted. It was certainly not for this reason that I did not renew my membership after a short time, but it certainly contributed a bit.

‘Good morning’ is a greeting, it is a communicative act with which you make contact with another individuals, it is a gesture of good manners. If a person does not wish to have contact with others, then they should not frequent a club, if not the one for the solitaries!

The club is, generally, a place (understood as a community) where several people who share certain interests (in our case, Golf) gather together. Therefore, it is by definition a place of aggregation (these days unfortunately within the limits of Covid, but golf fortunately allows to respect the rules of ‘maintaining distances’ much more than other sports activities, this is the only reason!), sharing, and exchange.

Therefore, enter the world of Golf: introverts or extroverts, shy or outgoing, tall or short, skinny or fat, ugly or good-looking, skilled or unskilled, etc., it only takes a little education, say ‘good morning!’ and you’re already a bit of a golfer!
